Yesterday's event was the Full Moon Paddle, and it turned out to be a great success! Over 40 people in kayaks came to the event. Even though it was a little cloudy, the paddle was nice and easy. Here on the Manistique River, the paddle was protected from the wind by surrounding trees. Thank you for coming everybody, it was nice to see all the new faces on the water. Can't wait to host this event next year!

Hey Northern Michigan!
I am excited to announce a new event to bring people to town and to celebrate this amazing community that we live in. This is the 10th anniversary of me personally moving to Manistique and I am excited about the new energy that I feel is in the air.
This November also marks a significant anniversary of losing my son to cancer and I want to represent Manistique running the New York City Marathon in his memory to raise funds for the American Cancer Society's: DetermiNation. 100% of the funds raised in the three day event will go to this cause. I am personably responsible for entry fees and travel expenses. I have commited to raising $3200 and have already reached $1000 of my goal and I am hoping to raise the rest of this money with this new event.
