Although my official career was in education, art has always been my love. With a BSE and an MSE most of my teaching was in several elementary schools in the Fox Valley area in Wisconsin. Art classes along with other subject areas allowed the opportunity to develop and encourage young artists. I especially enjoyed teaching adult painting classes part time for Fox Valley Technical College. That experience led me to my present position of teaching part time painting classes at the NWTC Aurora campus.
Throughout my adult life I’ve taken advantage of art classes and workshops in drawing, painting oils and watercolors. Before teaching full time, my paintings were displayed and sold at several art shows and small galleries in the Fox Valley area. Since retirement my husband and I live in the Pembine area close to waterfalls and streams, which are often the subject of my paintings. I prefer to paint from life and am thankful to be invited to paint with the Plein Air Painters of the U.P. That experience has introduced me to the beauty of the upper peninsula and the joy of painting with talented artists in the area. Comments are closed.
